Wrestling Recruiting & NCAA Wrestling Scholarship
Tennis is one the most played sports nationally – with strong high
school and college presences throughout the country.
Each year, there are over 244,000 male high school wrestlers.
Of those wrestlers, fewer than
1,500 make it to the college ranks each year as a NCAA wrestler for one of the
223 NCAA wrestling teams.
And while being recruited for college wrestling is becoming more
difficult, earning a tennis scholarship is tougher. The NCAA has strict
regulations regarding the number of athletic scholarships available for
each university and each NCAA sport. In Division I, the NCAA permits
approximately 9.9 wrestling scholarships for men. In
Division II, the NCAA allows approximately 9 wrestling
scholarships.
Remember – athletic scholarships across all non-revenue sports
(including men’s and women’s tennis) are not necessarily “full rides.”
Athletic scholarships can be partial scholarships and can be distributed
across multiple players.
Though being recruited for tennis and earning an NCAA wrestling
scholarship can be difficult – there are ways to improve your chances
such as registering with beRecruited.com <www.berecruited.com>
and studying the college recruiting articles published on the
beRecruited.com Network.
Below, you will find the complete listings of colleges and universities
offering NCAA wrestling teams in either Division I, II, or III. If you
are interested in playing for one of these teams or contacting on of the
coaches, visit beRecruited.com <www.berecruited.com>
as there is a very good chance that coach is a beRecruited.com user –
after all, beRecruited.com now has over 3,000 registered NCAA coaches.
